SJS Community Service

Community Service

St. John School has always taken an active role in service within our school and parish, within our community and, whenever possible, globally. It’s part of our Catholic tradition to be the hands and feet and heart of Jesus in our world. Some of our service opportunities are listed below:

Service Week – One week per month.

Monday – Cheer cards for nursing home, shut-ins and other friends of SJS
Tuesday – Can Tab Collection for the Lingap Center
Wednesday – Donations for the Lingap Center
Thursday – Toilet paper and tissue collection for our parish St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
Friday – Food collection for our parish St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry

December Christmas Toy Collection – A collection of new and gently used toys for the St. Vincent de Paul’s Priceless Toy Store in Jackson.

Birthline – 5th graders raise money and collect items for Birthline.

Earth Day Clean-up – Classes work to clean up litter in areas around the school neighborhood.
