The PTO at St. John’s is a group of parents committed to enhancing St. John’s School. We invite you to attend our meetings, which are held the third Tuesday of the month beginning at 5:30 pm and last 30-45 minutes. We are very aware of everyone’s time commitments so we keep our meetings to a minimum whenever possible. We correspond frequently via email and include meeting minutes in the school newsletter so that everyone can stay up to date on what is going on even if you can’t be there.
What We Are
The PTO at St. John’s is a group of parents committed to enhancing St. John’s School.
Through our fund-raising efforts we help purchase some of the “extras” for our school, provide fellowship and networking for St. John families, and appreciation for the staff. We host the Back-to-School Pool Party in August for new and returning students and their families. We act as school ambassadors to new students and their families by answering questions they may have about St. John’s.
These are just a few of the items our PTO has been able to provide:
- Classroom Teacher Grants
- Accelerated Math Program
- New Playground Equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, etc.)
- Student Assemblies
- White boards, projectors, tables and chairs for art classroom
- Field Day inflatable and equipment
While a big part of our goal is to raise money for our school, we are not solely about fundraising. We have one major fundraiser each year, Mardi Gras. Several of the events we sponsor, like Field Day, are held simply for the enjoyment of our St. John students and families.
